It is anticipated by the next audit of December 31st, 2015 that the asset base will grow over $2.3 billion. This expectation is due to internal portfolio management, current shareholder commitments and new business. Aspen Assurance Company Ltd. serves private corporate and individual clients and respects their desire for confidentiality. As such, The Company originally selected the Commonwealth of Dominica for its home office. Dominica is an ex-British Colony and gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1978. The ingenious Independence Agreement allows civil disputes unable to be solved locally to be settled in London’s Privvy Counsel. Subsequent to its establishment in Dominica, the Company moved to Kusapin, Republic of Panama, the capital of the semi-autonomous Ngobe Bugle Zone to take advantage of Law 10, Law 11 and the Administrative Decree which grants the Ngobe Bugle Zone tremendous flexibilities and advantages in the national and international business markets. Panama has natural geographical geological advantages with no active Volcanos, tectonic plate stability and most importantly for a Caribbean nation Panama has no Typhoon for Hurricane activity. It is physically impossible for either a Typhoon or Hurricane to hit Panama’s shores, this provides Aspen with unique security and storage facilities within the region.
Additionally, Panama and the United States recently signed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which had been in negotiations for years. The FTA addresses various legal mechanisms and procedures between the USA and Panama, thereby providing a higher level of legal security.
